    Responsibilities

    The incumbent is assigned to the Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service/ Psychiatry, Mental Health Intensive Care Management (MHICM) Program. This Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) focus' will be clinical (patient care). Administrative, educational and/or research activities may be available, as needed.

    MHICM is a community support program serving chronically mentally ill veterans. MHICM case managers provide services in the community, with the primary mission of maintaining continuity of care and avoiding acute hospitalizations. MHICM services include: patient tracking to assure treatment compliance, psychiatric evaluation, medication management and psychotherapy as needed, treatment planning, patient education in health maintenance and assisted living, group and/or family interventions, specialty consults and community referrals as needed.

    Work Schedule: 5-day tour of duty.

    Occasional travel - Required as services are provided in the community.
