    Summary

OUR MISSION: To fulfill President Lincoln's promise – "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" – by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's Veterans.

VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is the second largest and most complex VA system in the nation, comprised of the Dallas VA Medical Center, Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham, Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic and Tyler VA Primary Care Clinic. VANTHCS includes five Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations as well as an annex clinic located three miles from Dallas VAMC. A Fisher House is located on campus at Dallas VAMC. VANTHCS is an integrated health care system with approximately 5,000 employees and over 1,600 volunteers and clinical trainees. Through these four facilities and relationships with other agencies, VANTHCS offers health care services to approximately 500,000 veterans.

Dallas VA Medical Center is the corporate headquarters for VANTHCS and serves as the tertiary referral center. Through its partnership with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, it also has emerged as a major teaching and medical research center. The Research Program operates $8.7 million in grants. Primary care and multi-specialty outpatient clinics are also provided, making VANTHCS the first in bed days of care, the second in unique Veterans served, and the second in outpatient visits. Dallas provides a variety of cultural and educational opportunities, affordable housing and is easily accessible nationally and internationally.

These vacancies are advertised at the range of grades covered by the VA qualifications standard. As a VA professional, your opportunities are endless. With many openings in the multiple functions of VA, you will have a wide range of opportunities at your fingertips. Not only is it the largest, most technologically advanced integrated health care system in the nation, but we also provide many other services to Veterans through the Benefits Administration and National Cemeteries.
