    The technologist independently performs a wide range of diagnostic and portable x-rays including a limited number of fluoroscopic and c-arm exams. Also, performs a wide range of CT scans with and without contrast. The incumbent's main duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Explains the exam to the patient, addresses patient concerns and performs a variety of tasked involved to complete the exam. Positions patients for x-ray or CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
    • Provides excellent customer service to our Veterans.
    • Appropriately sets the controls of the related equipment, monitoring equipment and makes adjustments as necessary
    • Assists radiologist with imaging procedures, starts IVs, and injects contrast, when applicable
    • Assists radiologist with any procedure information and notifies radiologist of any emergent exams required and when they are completed.
    • Evaluates images for technical quality and appropriately labels images
    • Operates power injectors for contrast media administration and labels/dates contrast media
    • Maintains accurate patient records for all procedures performed, maintaining patient confidentiality, and adhering to all HIPAA standards
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Work Schedule: Rotating Shifts, rotating weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
