The Crescenz VA Medical Center - Philadelphia is a complex 1b tertiary care facility consisting of acute inpatient beds and long term care beds.  The organization has robust education and research programs and offers treatment for 40 different American Medical Associations recognized medical specialties and sub-specialties including Medicine and Surgery, Intensive Care, General Psychiatry, Substance Abuse Treatment, Long Term Care (Nursing Home Care Units) and Residential Rehabilitation Inpatient Program. The medical center is a teaching facility and is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and over 50 other colleges and universities.  The organization consists of the main Medical Center, three Community Based Outpatient Clinics, one clinical and administrative annex, a Community Living Center and a 40 bed Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Program.

Physical Requirements: The work is predominantly sedentary and does not require any special physical effort. 


The Grants Management Specialist position includes the following duties:


  -  Reviews and analyzes grants/assistance program applications, plans and estimates.

  -  Negotiates terms and conditions of well-defined awards to include costs, schedules, and oversight responsibilities; preparing, processing, issuing, and tracking grants/assistance awards and compliance with reporting requirements.

  -  Performs the final review of completed awards, making appropriate adjustments or dis allowances, and processing close-outs; and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.

  -  Implements and interprets grants/assistance management policies, procedures, and practices.

  -  Provides training, technical assistance, oversight, ethics advice and expertise and consultation to program offices, awardees, review panels, applicants, recipients, and sub-recipients as needed.
