    The VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics (VA SORCC) in White City, Oregon is seeking a number of Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors for various inpatient and outpatient services. The VA SORCC provides a variety of clinical programs with a wide range of outpatient services and treatments for Veterans in Geriatrics and Extended Care, Psychiatry, substance abuse, home based primary care, community care, residential, and various other ambulatory care programs.

    We are recruiting for the following Mental Health, Residential, and Social Work programs:
    • The Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) provides a 24/7 supportive, recovery based setting for Veterans with mental health, substance use disorders and co-occurring concerns. Veterans may also be homeless, unemployed or have other psychosocial needs. Treatment is offered through an interdisciplinary team, and is individualized based on the needs of the Veteran. Typical length of stay is 90-180 days.
    • The Outpatient Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Clinic provides Veterans with moderate to severe mental illness including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders. Each Veteran is assigned to an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, care managers and peer supports. Services include medication management, individual and group therapy, and case management.
    • The Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) offers person-centered, recovery-based interventions for Veterans experiencing severe mental illness. Services include social-skills training, peer support mentoring, ill-ness management and recovery groups, well-ness groups, family education services, and community engagement opportunities.
    • The Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Treatment Program uses a Harm Reduction approach to meet Veterans "where they are" in the Recovery process. Treatment is individualized and focuses on the Veteran's individual goals. The pro-gram offers individual and group therapies. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Buprenorphine or Naltrexone for Opioid Use Disorders is encouraged. Naloxone kits for overdose prevention are available for Veterans and families.
    • The Primary Care Mental Health Initiative (PCMHI) providers for behavioral treatment of mild depression, anxiety, insomnia, coping with medical illness, coping with chronic pain, and tobacco cessation. The PCMHI team works with Primary Care Providers for follow-up of Behavioral Health Medications prescriptions.
    • The Suicide Prevention/Workplace Violence Program reports to the Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health Service Line, works in conjunction with the facility suicide prevention and workplace violence coordinators. Provides training, support, crisis management and consultative services across the facility. Facilitates extensive community outreach and engagement.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm and may include opportunities for extended hours during the week and weekends
