VA TEXAS VALLEY COASTAL BEND HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
The VATVCBHCS is comprised of the Corpus Christi Outpatient Clinic (CCOPC), Corpus Christi Specialty Clinic (CCSC), Harlingen Outpatient Clinic (HOPC), Health Care Center at Harlingen (HCC), Laredo Outpatient Clinic (LOPC), and McAllen Outpatient Clinic (MCOPC). The VATVCBHCS is an ambulatory health care system providing health care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, and rehabilitation medicine. The VATVCBHCS also operates a 100-patient Home Based Primary Care program and a 200-patient Care Coordination Home Tele-Health Program. Through the utilization of inpatient/emergency department contracts, approximately 2600 inpatient admission and 5800 ER visits are managed by VATVCBHCS. Affiliated with the University of Texas Regional Academic Health Campus, the system has an active ambulatory care program and serves as a teaching and training site for medical residents. The VATVCBHCS is responsible for an enrollee population of over 30,000 veterans and 350,000 outpatient visits annually.

Duties

*** Non-Bargaining Position ***

Join the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS) as the Personnel Security Specialist (PCI Manager) where you will be responsible for coordinating the overall personnel security program for the health care system. You will plan, coordinate, review and evaluate program to assure proper course of action is taken for adjudicating sensitive personnel security risks. Analyze and evaluate reports of investigations, identifying and gathering pertinent information and provide oral and written reports, and identify current internal security problems with the program. You will also travel to other Outpatient facilities within the health care system as needed. Other duties include:

  • Plan for improvements in the facility personnel security program.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Adjudicate security clearances with regard to suitability issues: National Agency Checks with Written Inquires (NACIs), Special Agreement Checks (SACs), Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) and Background Investigation (BI) referrals from VA Security and Investigations Center (VASIC).
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to employees, contractors, affiliates, and volunteers with
    regard to matters pertaining to e-QIP.
  • Review SF 85s, OF 306s, and other e-QIP documents for completeness prior to submission to
    the e-QIP Approver or OPM.
  • Serve as the Primary PIV Registrar and Issuer for new employees.
  • Use of government vehicle is required.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.(Alternate schedules may be necessary to meet the needs of the organization.)
