The Staff Physical Therapist's primary function is direct patient care. Treatment duties include varied and extensive physical therapy evaluations, treatment, and documentation, as well as patient/family education. This individual must have knowledge of skills and ability to interact with and provide treatment to patients from young adulthood through geriatric age, and be able to treat according to individual diagnoses and age specific needs. The population served includes adults and geriatric patients who may have physical, cognitive, and psychiatric disabilities, and who are provided rehabilitation services in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. This position primarily serves the outpatient physical therapy setting, and will include assisting inpatient Physical Therapy wards, as needed. The Staff Physical Therapist serves as subject matter expert and role model for other physical therapy personnel, in evaluation and treatment of patients in the rehabilitation area. This individual may supervise physical therapy assistants, when applicable, depending upon job responsibilities and other delegated assignments. This individual will assist with teaching, training, and mentoring physical therapy intern students. The Staff Physical Therapist will also function as a physical therapy consultant to a broad range of medical and facility staff, including multidisciplinary teams, communicating directly with team members, physicians, nursing personnel, social workers, dietitians, psychologists, and other Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service disciplines involved with patient care. Advises, teaches, and mentors medical center staff regarding care of patients needs and therapy progress. The individual will continue to acquire additional physical therapy skills through independent study and by participating with, and attending, continuing education courses and other physical therapy training, as applicable, and as needed for

Work Schedule: Part-time 20 hrs per week to be worked between 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. This position will include weekend coverage for Inpatient PT duties.
