    The mission of VA Northern Indiana Health Care System (VANIHCS), is to provide coordinated, compassionate and comprehensive quality primary care, mental health, surgical, intensive and extended care to Veterans in a timely, accessible and cost effective manner. It is a fully-integrated medical care facility with a dual campus and combined VA mission. The combined mission of the VANIHCS means military retirees, and eligible veterans receive health care at these facilities. The Fort Wayne campus offers primary and secondary medical and surgical services as well as intensive care and emergency medicine. The Marion campus offers a full range of psychiatry services, nursing home care and extended care services. Primary care clinics are available at both campuses and at Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Mishawaka, Goshen, Peru and Muncie, Indiana.


    This position is located in the Primary Care Service Line and will be located at the Fort Wayne campus with travel to the Marion campus and associated CBOCs.

    The successful candidate will serve as the Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care at the Northern Indiana Health Care System under the supervision of the Chief of Staff. As the Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care you will be responsible and accountable for the overall leadership, policy planning, budget, operations and performance of the service line including:

    • Supervision and collaboration with providers, as well as the direct or indirect supervision of all clinical and administrative staff within the service line.
    • The delivery of Veteran-centered, high quality and high value primary care. You will continuously monitor and improve Veterans access to care in the organization.
    • Ensuring that the service activities are integrated with administrative and patient care support services in order to provide integrated patient centered care.
    • Responsible, through mid-level supervisors, for the overall operations of all primary care clinics within the health care system including 2 hospitals and 4 community based outpatient clinics.


    Work Schedule: Mainly Monday through Friday day shift.
