National Capital Region- Medical Directorate has announced a reorganization using Reduction in Force procedures effective 2 October 2016. If you are hired into this position you could be impacted by a reduction in grade or movement to another organization within the Medical Directorate, no employees will be separated through this reorganization.
About the Position:
These positions are located at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Directorate for Behavioral Health. This position will be located within the Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.
This is an open-continuous announcement that will have a cut-off every 30 days. The first cut-off will be Sept 4, 2016. This announcement will remain open, until the position is filled. In the event that the position is filled, the announcement will be closed.

You will assess community, patient, and population needs, mission requirements, and program resources to plan, implement, and provide a wide array of outpatient child and adolescent psychiatric services. Provide routine and emergency intakes and extended evaluations for a wide variety of child and adolescent emotional, psychological, and behavioral disorders. Perform physical and neurological evaluation pertinent to the assessment and diagnosis of psychiatric disorders, and request appropriate laboratory, electrocardiogram (EKG), Imaging and psychological evaluations. Provide a variety of treatment modalities, including pharmacotherapy, individual and group play therapy, individual family and group psychotherapy, multifamily therapy, behavioral and cognitive behavioral therapy and parental guidance. Prepare and maintain convenience file, paperless outpatient medical record and inpatient medical record documentation in accordance with service and hospital standard operating procedures. Assist with managing assigned employees and any enlisted personnel assigned to the clinic, accepts or rejects completed work, explains changes in work requirements, methods, and procedures.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.Degree: A Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation. (A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country.)Graduate Training: In addition to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training.
License/Certification: Candidate must have a permanent, full land unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Residency Required: A 5 year of residency training in Psychiatry or equivalent experience and training in the specialty of Psychiatry. This required Psychiatry experience/training will include skills such as, but not limited to, examine diagnose, and treat adolescent & child behavioral health disorders and diseases and perform medical duties covering all aspects of disorders involving adolescent & child behavioral health.
NOTE: A 5 year residency in Psychiatry that encompasses a 2 year fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred.
NOTE: Board eligibility or Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred.
