The VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System (NIHCS) has an exciting opportunity for a part-time


This position is located at a brand new, approximately 90,000 SF, state-of-the-art facility being constructed in Mishawaka, IN. This is designed and constructed based on the new VA Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model which will provide quality healthcare to our nations veterans.  The clinic will also offer specialty clinics in vision, audiology, urology, cardiology, mental health, podiatry, gastroenterology, and dermatology.  The clinic is situated in a great and centralized location, close to excellent restaurants, upscale housing, and right in the center of the areas best shopping district.  The clinic is only 3.5 miles and less than a 10 minute drive from the Beautiful University of Notre Dame Campus and Eddy Street Commons. 

The mission of VA Northern Indiana Health Care System (VANIHCS), is to provide coordinated, compassionate and comprehensive quality primary care, mental health services and extended care to Veterans in a timely, accessible and cost effective manner. It is a fully-integrated medical care facility with a dual campus and combined VA mission. The combined mission of the VANIHCS means military retirees, and eligible veterans receive health care at these facilities. The Fort Wayne campus offers primary and secondary medical and surgical services. The Marion campus offers a full range of psychiatry services, nursing home care and extended care services. Primary care clinics are available at both campuses and at Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) located in Goshen, Peru and Muncie, Indiana.

The dermatologist is responsible for managing the full spectrum of patient care in both outpatient and inpatient care settings of dermatology, dermatology surgical procedures and tele-dermatology. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating, diagnosing, consulting and ordering diagnostic studies.
  • Performing surgical and non-surgical dermatology procedures on the skin and to particular lesions as appropriate on all ages who have presented with injuries or diseases of the disorders of the integumentary system.
  • Providing consultative services to patients referred from other areas of the facility.
  • Participating in educational programs for Dermatology and physician personnel as well as medical staff.
