Salary: To be determined by a Compensation Panel of your peers and based on your education, experience, and professional accomplishments.

Work Schedule:

Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; if evening and/or Saturday clinics are established, there may be some coverage required during those times. 

Functional Statement Title/#:   Psychiatry Physician

Position Location may be one of the following: West Los Angeles Healthcare Center, Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center, Downtown Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Clinic

VA Greater Los Angeles HealthCare System (GLA) seeks Board-Eligible and/or Board-Certified Inpatient and Outpatient Psychiatrists. Candidates will work on a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, integrated, rehabilitative and restorative mental health care with the goal of helping eligible veterans achieve and maintain the highest level of functioning and independence. Duties include, but are not limited to:

*Diagnose and treat a wide variety of severe mental and substance use disorders and be familiar with recovery-oriented principles.

*Teach a variety of trainees and must be eligible for a faculty appointment.

*Provide clinical services in a virtual modality. Virtual modality includes video telehealth, patient/provider secure messaging, telephone visits, and remote review of electronically forwarded medical records. The degree of use will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

*Provide comprehensive Mental Health evaluation and treatment for all Veterans seeking care in Los Angeles County.

*Deliver Mental Health integrated services in conjunction with nurse care-managers, psychologists, social workers, and physicians in Primary Care.

*Participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
