    The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (http://www.chicago.va.gov/) is a 200-bed inpatient facility, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education, research and academic affiliations with the University of Illinois - Chicago and Northwestern University. The main campus resides on 13 acres in the Illinois Medical District, approximately three miles from downtown Chicago. JBVAMC also operates four Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in the Lakeside (downtown) area and Auburn Gresham (south side) community of Chicago, in Chicago Heights, Ill.; and the Adam Benjamin, Jr. VA Outpatient Clinic in Crown Point, IN, which serves the four counties of Northwestern Indiana.

    Responsibilities

    The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL WI is recruiting for an experienced and highly qualified Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist, highly skilled in the management of patients' mental health needs, and the evaluation and treatment of a diverse range of mental health disorders. Primary duties will be assigned by the clinic's MHSL lead or designee. This is an outpatient position split between Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PMCHI) program and mental health clinic.

    Duties include, but are not limited to: treatment and professional direction of mental health outpatient care, including Acute, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse, Dual Diagnosis, telemental health and psychiatric consultations. This Psychiatrist will be clinically competent to perform examinations, diagnosis, therapeutic treatment, be effective in handling emergencies, patient management and document in patient records. The qualified candidate will provide teaching (patient education and co-workers), planning, as well as using administrative judgment and using sound decision making skills.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
