North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is currently seeking two (2) full-time Psychiatrists to join the Mental Health Clinic in Lake City, FL. We are looking for two motivated, team-oriented providers for patient-centered care. Our facility is seeking individuals who posses good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Duties

The primary role for these positions will focus on outpatient care of veterans as part of an integrated team of psychiatrists, mid-level practitioners, nurses, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and clerks. The selectees may need to provide clinical services off tour and will be required to do so upon receipt of critical clinical messages. The selectees must be willing to be placed, detailed or temporarily assigned to other related services and/or locations if necessary. Selectees may be ask to provide Tele-Psychiatry services and consultation services to the medical hospital. The selectees will report to the Associate Chief, Psychiatry Service of Lake City or their designee. Duties includes but are not limited too:

  • Provide Psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide comprehensive, outpatient mental health care.
  • Provide psychiatric medication management, and coordination of the veteran's overall mental health care.
  • Active knowledge of the medical records system.
  • Use the computerized patient record system (CPRS) for progress notes, orders, prescriptions, and medical record review and completion of such records in a complete and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of and abide by Medical Center Staff Bylaws, VHA Rules and Regulations and have a familiarization with existing VA specific clinical guidelines.
  • Represent Psychiatry in other areas, such as education and research or be called upon to exercise leadership role in occasional efforts to improve patient care.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 08:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
