Duties

We are looking for a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join our psychiatric staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee WI.

The Clement J, Zablocki VAMC is proud of its skilled, hardworking and stable mental health multidisciplinary teams that serve over 10,000 veterans mental health needs. Teaching opportunities are available, as this VAMC educates medical students, residents and fellows from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Psychiatrist on call responsibilities occur in week long intervals for three weeks total per year. During the week on call the Psychiatrist will round on our mental health inpatient unit on the weekend days, they will write admission orders during off tour times remotely, and they will perform at-home telephone coverage during off tour times of our inpatient unit. The Zablocki VAMC has a team of Psychologists who perform the in house mental health exam call duties after hours and off tour.
We are looking for a qualified Psychiatrist to fill a full time inpatient Psychiatric hospitalist position that is now available. We are recruiting to fill 1 open position among the 4 hospitalists assigned to the unit. The Zablocki VAMC is 1A VA facility and provides exemplary treatment to its veterans with inter-service cooperation working at a high level. We staff our 34 bed inpatient acute Psychiatry unit with a dedicated team of 4 full time Psychiatric Hospitalists. Our hospitalists provide a full array of Psychiatric Treatment including ECT with multiple staff certified in its use. The inpatient unit is a teaching unit that is continually training medical students and Psychiatry residents. We are a teaching hospital allied with the Medical College of Wisconsin and a position as faculty in the Department of Psychiatry can be explored if there is interest.


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
