    Responsibilities

    The duties of the Physician (Psychiatrist - Inpatient) include:

    * Providing direct psychiatric care to patients. Direct care may include care by video phone or via Telemental Health methods.

    * Providing psychiatric consultation services, both within and external to the service line.

    * Providing psychiatric care consistent with policies including those regarding recovery and suicide prevention,

    * Providing treatment planning and consultation with interdisciplinary teams.

    * Educating staff, residents, physicians, and other disciplines, by direct supervision, didactic or other teaching methods.

    * Participation in the system-wide call coverage system.

    * Participation in peer review, committees and other quality management duties.

    * Participation and keep up to date on assigned VA education programs, and maintain continuing medical education.

    * Performing other duties as assigned and consistent with the credentials of a board certified psychiatrist.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal safety precautions while working in an office/clinic or inpatient unit type environment, which is well lighted, clean and does not present hazards to personal safety. There may be occasional risk of physical harm, which requires special precautions and training. The incumbent may be exposed to infectious diseases and medical/psychiatric emergencies,

    WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time, 8:00am - 4:40pm, Monday - Friday or as needed.
