    Summary

    This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

    The Defense Health Agency, National Capital Region Medical Directorate (NCR-MD) is the future of Military Medicine- a partnership in World Class Medical Healthcare. The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Dilorenzo Clinic and the Joint Pathology Center, provide world class medical services to the nation's service members and their families.

    About the Position:
    This is for a part-time position located at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Director for Behavioral Health, Department of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health. You can expect to work in either inpatient, outpatient, or a partial hospitalization program for children and adolescents. Multidisciplinary teams in each setting work together to treat a variety of presenting issues. You can expect to be involved in resident training.

    * Please note that the salary range listed is for a full time position, salary will be adjusted based on work schedule.

    Responsibilities

    As a Physician (Psychiatry) you will function in a capacity as staff child and adolescent psychiatrist in the Department of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health. You will assess and resolve complex social, economic and psychosocial problems that may have an impact on the patients and their families' medical treatment as inpatients or outpatients by providing direct casework services, to include screening, assessment, treatment, referral, consultation and education. You will provide service to high-risk populations of child and adolescents with psychotic disorders, mental retardation, substance disorders, histories of abuse, and autism spectrum disorders. Examine and conduct thorough studies of presenting patients; evaluate laboratory and clinical findings, prescribe appropriate treatment or refer patient to appropriate specialty clinics.
