    This position is that of a Psychiatrist located at the Naval Branch Health Clinic, Groton CT and is relied upon to proceed on own initiative and has responsibility for decisions regarding emergency cases as well as normal diagnostic and treatment procedures and to collaborate actively with the Behavioral Health Program Advisory with program development.     The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

    • Practitioner and consultant in Psychiatry.
    • Determine service member's fitness for duty.
    • Assess and complete Medical Evaluation Board (MEB).
    • Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL) evaluations.
    • Identifies patient treatment needs and arranges for safe therapeutic outcome.
    • Special program assignments; training, program coordination, research, analysis and consultation.
    • Provide continuing follow-up care for inpatients and out patients with acute disorders; psychosis, organic brain syndrome, substance abuse/addition, etc.
