    This Psychiatrist position is located at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. We are the pinnacle of military medical excellence; we support global health engagement and kinetic operations worldwide. We maximize warfighter and family readiness through quality patient-centered healthcare, medical education and research. This position is located in the Adolescent/Child Division, Mental Health Department, Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA, and provides the full range of child and adolescent outpatient services and supervision to medical providers and other mental health providers in the hospital as well as other local military facilities.     Responsibilities

    In this position, you will perform meaningful professional work in the field of child psychiatry, such as the following:

    • Provide direct expert patient care and clinical supervision for a wide range of patient psychiatric presentations, conditions and complexity for a patient population between the ages of 3-18 years of age.
    • Provide treatment services primarily for child and adolescent patients, but may be used, if needed, in any capacity as a general psychiatrist including, but not limited to, the inpatient services, consultation liaison services, partial hospitalization or day program, emergency psychiatric services and outpatient services.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
