    The VA Saint Louis Health Care System is a 2 Campus, full-service tertiary referral center, with 4 Community Based Outpatient Clinics, providing advanced inpatient and ambulatory care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, neurology, and rehabilitation, as well as over 65 subspecialty areas, including the VA's busiest interventional cardiac program, interventional radiology and radiation oncology.

    This vacancy is to fill the Primary Care Whole Health/Integrated Medicine Physician position at the Saint Louis VA Medical Center.  The duty station may be changed to one or multiple associated VAMC locations within the metropolitan St. Louis, MO area based on the needs of the medical center.

    The Primary Care Service of the VA St. Louis Health Care System is currently seeking a full-time Whole Health/Integrative Medicine trained Physician. The ideal candidate will see integrative medicine and/or functional medicine consults during a percentage of their team.  The Physician will work under the supervision of the Whole Health System Clinical Director and ACOS of Primary Care and will lead a multi-disciplinary integrative health team, including functional dietitian, integrative psychologist, holistic nurse, chiropractor, acupuncturist, and massage therapist.  The Physician will work collaboratively with members of the well-being programs.   


    The Whole Health/Integrative Medicine Physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care by performing duties to include, but not limited to the following: 

    - Works collaboratively with whole health coaches and partners, who are working with patients to identify health and well-being goals and support sustainable behavioral and lifestyle changes.

    - Provides education to existing VASTLHCS clinical teams in integrative health principles.

    - As applicable, provides environment for student, resident, and fellowship training.

    - Provides grand rounds, in-services, and other training opportunities, as needed and decided on by whole health leadership team, in order to promote the whole health system transformation in VASTLHCS.

    - Works collaboratively with academic affiliates to promote the growth of the whole health system.

    WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Required to do occasional travel to John Cochran (JC); Jefferson Barracks (JB); and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) to help educate staff.
