VA Connecticut Healthcare System was officially formed in 1995. We serve veterans in Connecticut and southern New England. The West Haven facility is a tertiary care facility classified as a Clinical Referral Level I Facility. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology and a renowned research program. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary, acute, tertiary and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics and extended care. Newington is an ambulatory care center that provides primary and specialty care. In addition to our main campuses, we operate six community-based primary care centers throughout the state.

Duties

The incumbent will provide administrative oversight to the Mental Health Service Line, which is an integrated service at West Haven, Errera Community Care Center, CTW/TR Brownell House, Newington, Rocky Hill Veterans Home and community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in New London, Winsted, Waterbury, Windham, Stamford and Danbury.  The Mental Health Service Line provides comprehensive psychiatric specialty and primary care to Veterans within the state of Connecticut.  The Clinic Coordinator provides full administrative and management support to the Mental Health Service Line.  Because all of these clinics have diverse requirements the Clinic Coordinator must have knowledge of their complexities and uniqueness.  Independently coordinates and tracks information relating to the maintenance of all clinic areas.  The Clinic Coordinator will be directly responsible for administrative matters such as workplace environment, support staff adjustments, scheduling information, productivity analysis and needs assessment, collection and analysis of performance data.  The Clinic Coordinator is the administrative resource for clinical personnel.  Administration will focus on this position for management information, reports, dissemination of information, and the effectiveness of both clinical and administrative work methods.  The following duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Data analysis
  • Data gathering
  • Utilization data
  • Workload data
  • Analyze problems and present both written and oral recommendations
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis 
  • Applies new methods to resolve complex and/or intricate issues and problems
  • Maintains and analyzes datasets related to clinical productivity
  • Timecards

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00am to 04:30pm
