    The Lee County VA Healthcare Center in Cape Coral, Florida is seeking a Psychiatrist to support our Compensation and Pension Service (C&P). The Psychiatrist is responsible for:

    • Performing psychiatric (Mental Health, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury TBI) examinations on C&P Veteran applicants.
    • Maintaining an active knowledge of the patient care processes of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the medical center, and its clinics.
    • Maintaining an active knowledge of the records systems to include: Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), Compensation and Pension Record Interchange (CAPRI) and Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS).
    • Using CPRS for C&P notes and medical record review and completion of such records in a complete and timely manner.
    • Possessing knowledge of and abiding by all VAHCS Bylaws, VHA Rules and Regulations and have a familiarization with existing VA specific clinical guidelines.
    Work Schedule: The tours of duty available for this position: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm; 8:00am-4:30pm; or a compressed tour of duty totaling Four (4) 10 hour days. The days of duty for the compressed work schedule must fall within Monday - Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm.
