    Functions as a psychiatrist within an interdisciplinary team. Conducts psychiatric evaluations, develops treatment plans, implements treatment, and provides clinical management for a variety of complex mental health conditions including PTSD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and other related conditions. Position requires a working knowledge of advanced psychopharmacology, substance abuse treatment, and psychotherapy.

    -In collaboration with the National Tele-Mental Health HUB team, selects appropriate treatment from a variety of resources and clinical approaches including non-direct and cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, insight-oriented methods, family therapy, relaxation training, medication management, etc. Focuses on utilization of pharmacological interventions as well as appropriate referral for additional studies and/or for adjunctive psychosocial interventions.

    -Provides consultation to Veterans' families/caregivers as well as mid-level providers and other professional staff on the assessment, education, and treatment of Veterans with complex clinical problems.

    -Position requires a working knowledge of advanced psychopharmacology, substance abuse treatment, and psychotherapy.

    -Ongoing National Tele-Mental Health HUB involves monitoring for effectiveness and adverse effects with the goal of full symptom remission. Incumbent Tele-Mental Health psychiatrist will also support quality improvement initiatives and will attend the Psychiatry Service, Prescriber Peer Review and other meetings as appropriate. The incumbent shall obtain a faculty appointment with the University of Utah Department of Psychiatry and may participate in training of psychiatric residents.

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
    - Will share on-call responsibilities. Also, possibility of working some evenings hours on weekend or weekdays.
