The health care system is comprised of one tertiary academic medical center located in Omaha, NE, two large stand-alone multi-specialty outpatient clinics in Lincoln and Grand Island, NE, and five rural Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) located in Shenandoah, IA; plus, Bellevue, Norfolk, Holcomb, O'Neil and North Platte, NE. Responsibilities

The Chief of Mental Health (CMH) is a member of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff and supervises a multi-disciplinary clinical staff composed of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers and administrative support staff.  This position reports to the Chief of Staff and is responsible for leading all aspects of the Mental Health service line for the entire NWI healthcare system.

The CMH is a member of the NWI senior management team, stationed at the Omaha campus, but is expected to spend one day per month at the Lincoln, NE and Grand Island, NE campuses and travel to rural CBOCs as required.  The CMH is the highest level behavioral health professional within NWI and is responsible for the professional practice of all facility mental health employees and the provision of high-quality mental health care across the health system.   The selected candidate will provide effective leadership for the Mental Health service line and demonstrate a high level of initiative and independence in carrying out administrative and patient care functions.  The CMH ensures compliance with regulatory and clinical standards, implements clinical practice guidelines, and creates systems of care that promote state-of-the-art, quality care.  The CMH also ensures Mental Health staffing and resources are adequate to meet patient needs for both outpatient and inpatient Mental Health programs.
