    Responsibilities

    The Supervisory Psychologist serves as the Director Mental Health Services at the Santa Rosa Community Based Outpatient Clinic (SRCBOC). The SRCBOC is the largest of the six Community Based Outpatient Clinic satellites of the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The SRCBOC provides a broad range of outpatient care, which includes, in addition to mental health services, medical care for cardiology, dermatology, GI, orthopedics, audiology, eye and university affiliated psychology trainees spend part or all of their training year in Santa Rosa. 

    The Supervisory Psychologist has responsibility for all clinical and administrative services in the clinic and is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the interdisciplinary mental health staff.  These staff are comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and psychology post-doctoral fellows.

    The Supervisory Psychologist has general proficiencies in leadership and administration, teaching and training, psychotherapy and clinical services, consultation services, and research and scholarly activities.  He/she have special skills in the areas of leadership and administration, program development, substance abuse, cognitive-behavioral therapy, anger management, violence prevention, consultation, and research. He/she is a member of the management team of the San Francisco VAMC Mental Health Service and represents Santa Rosa Mental Health Services at relevant Medical Center management meetings and to outside groups such as UCSF and Veteran Service Organizations.  The Supervisory Psychologist holds an academic appointment of Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry, UCSF.
