The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is a two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and spinal cord injury. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University, Augusta, GA and as such integrates teaching, research, and advanced patient care, making it an attractive academic medical center. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Functional Statement Title/#: Registered Nurse (BHIP)

Location:  Athens Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)

  - The Registered Nurse (RN) will be assigned to a Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Team; outpatient setting.
  - Assure appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical interventions, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments within the mental health setting.
  - Enable the RN to effectively promote mental health, promote interventions, manage acute and chronic illness, and assist the mental health patient achieve optimal levels of functioning.

 -  Assist with Clinical Video Telehealth program.
  - Identify and assess need for care; plan appropriate interventions; provide supportive therapy for an identified case load; educate and counsel patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive health measures, medications, and available VA/Community resources.
  - Demonstrate of excellent observational and assessment skills, ability to develop and implement the plan of care with short and long range goals, ability to coordinate care and services to meet the veterans' mental and physical needs, ability to participate in developing the multi-disciplinary treatment plan, ability to evaluate patients' responses to care and treatment, and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
