The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is a two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and spinal cord injury. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University, Augusta, GA and as such integrates teaching, research, and advanced patient care, making it an attractive academic medical center. This facility offers a full spectrum of comprehensive health care services, using state-of-the-art technology and innovative programs, as well as education and research benefits.

Work Schedule: Various Tours

Functional Statement Title/#: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg/Palliative)

Location:  Downtown Division/Nursing Service/6D

 - Demonstrate knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems.
 - Orient/train less experienced LPNs and NAs in relation to acceptable standards of practice in promoting optimal patient care delivery.
 - Serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact in an appropriate manner with patients, family, professional and other supportive personnel involved in the delivery of patient care, incorporating acceptable, established customer service standards into practice.
 - Ensure that the physical and emotional environment is consistent with the vision for the veteran/family centered care.
 - Facilitate the admission of new patients through unit orientation, room assignments and initiation of vital signs.
 - Demonstrate the ability to establish a work plan and re-prioritize plan based on changing patient care needs.
 - Safeguard veteran/family rights to privacy and confidentiality.
