    The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is a two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and spinal cord injury.     Responsibilities

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
    Location of position: Uptown/Downtown, Safety Office

    Position Description Title/PD#: Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, 14042-0

    The Safety and Occupational Health Specialist's duties include but are not limited to performing Safety and Health inspections and surveys for VA medical centers, medical foster homes, Nursing homes and others.  The safety specialist is responsible for developing and recommending safety and occupational health policies to higher levels of management, management of occupational health program elements, developing and implementing programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses.  The specialist is also responsible for the training of supervisors, managers and workers in safety or occupational health subjects.
