    Summary

    Embark on a management level career opportunity as the Behavioral Health Service Chief for the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System (EKHCS). EKHCS is a complexity 1c facility and has robust inpatient and outpatient treatment programs including acute medical inpatient, icu/pcu, acute psychiatry/ mental health rehab beds and three community living centers. We offer comprehensive outpatient physical medicine and rehab, mental health, geriatrics and prosthetics. We do extensive community outreach and placement.

    Responsibilities

     This announcement is for one (1) position as the Chief of Behavioral Health, and will act as its Service Line Manager for

    the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System. This position will be located at either the Leavenworth (Dwight D. Eisenhower)

    Campus or the Topeka (Colmery O'Neil) Campus, with travel between the two facilities being required.

    • The Chief of Behavioral Health is responsible for overall operation, oversight and performance measures of all Behavioral
    • Health operations at the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System.
    • Responsibilities include planning, developing and directing administrative and clinic functions of the Behavioral Health service.
    • Candidates must possess the skills to interact positively with the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System's leadership team to lead and promote staff excellence, staff development, with experience in an academic setting.
    • This position provides administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership for the service to ensure achieved performance measures.
    • The position reports directly to the Chief of Staff and serves as a clinical resource for the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills are essential, as the successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary staff in the delivery of excellent health care to our nation's Veterans.
    • The Chief of Behavioral Health will be expected to practice within their medical specialty no less than 20% of their total time, in addition to fulfilling administrative responsibilities, be on call, as well as take calls.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
