Duties

NOTE1: This is an open continuous announcement; we are anticipating vacancies in the future. Cut off dates will be established through-out the opening dates and qualified applicants will be referred.

NOTE2:Appointment, grade and salary of hybrid Title 38 positions are subject to the recommendation of the Professional Standards Board and approval by the Medical Center Director.

The Staff Pharmacist must be a licensed pharmacist preferably with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Clinical Practice Residency or other equivalent experience; responsible for the pharmaceutical needs in the Outpatient section of Pharmacy Service. Programs that the Outpatient Pharmacist support include, but are not limited to: Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC), Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM), Operating Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF), Outpatient Substance Abuse Clinic (OSAC), and Mental Health Rehabilitation Treatment Programs. Collaborates with physicians to design treatment regimens. Challenges and issues relevant to veterans with chronic illness who are achieving symptom management and functional independence. Reviews medication profiles for each patient to detect and prevent adverse drug reactions, therapeutic duplications, dosing errors, and drug-drug interactions. Actively collaborates with other medical professionals in the design and implementation of research protocols, collection of data, and participates in the analysis and interpretation of the results. Other duties as assigned.
