    The Training Instructor (MSA Trainer) positions are located in the Staff Education Section of the Education Product Service Line. The duties of the position include, and are not limited to, the following:

    • Develops and implements training modules(s) for new and existing employees for Inpatient/Outpatient, CBOC Medical Support Assistants (MSA's), and other clerical, administrative, and clinical Medical Center Staff.
    • Develops and evaluates courses for training programs and implements changes based upon the evaluations of courses and/or programs.
    • Provides instructions covering topics to include well-established subject matter fields which include training health care providers and MSA's.
    • Identifies and determines training priorities.
    • Develops, conducts, and administers training programs.
    • Develops and improves training guidance as it relates to VISTA, New Employee Orientation, Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and other computer applications.
    • Trains and orients users (clerical, administrative, and clinical) in selected programs and applications (VISTA, CPRS and Talent Management System (TMS)).
    • Develops, obtains, and adapts current instructional material.
    • Uses a wide range of teaching methods or tools, depending on the students learning requirements.
    • Conducts scheduler audits as needed for selected staff that schedule appointments.
    • Develops education curriculum, competencies, and conducts education training and competencies related to scheduling to include Primary Care Management Module (PCMM) assignments and entries in the Electronic Wait List (EWL).

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

    Probationary Period:  A one-year probationary period may be required

    FLSA:  This position is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.  Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
